SCITT training felt/was hopeless for me. Told to learn behaviour management by watching an expert maths teacher - literally all I saw was a raised eyebrow. Funnily enough, raising my eyebrow at a disruptive student did nothing! Thank goodness I read Teach Like A Champion!!
Every time I speak to a trainee teacher I get furious. They should be learning to teach - a hard enough job in itself. They shouldn't also be having to write 5000 word sociology essays, attend lectures about inquiry based learning and deliver presentations on vague non-teaching
