The Johnson Government was notoriously lacking in competence and integrity. It is good to see the Conservative Party being purged by these defections.
Reform now has Boris Johnson’s… - chancellor (Zahawi) - communities sec (Jenrick) - culture sec (Dorries) - attorney general (Braverman) - political sec (Kruger) - skills minister (Jenkyns) - Northern powerhouse minister (Berry) - health minister (Caulfield) - parliamentary

I hope and trust that the Conservative leadership will be suitably grateful for this initiative. There is no future in a Party that is just marginally less extreme than Reform
Tomorrow, @andy4wm and I are helping launch a new grassroots political movement. Focusing on business, enterprise and economic growth, we want to reach those in the centre and centre right who feel politically homeless - and bring their ideas and energy to the @Conservatives

Absolutely right @andy4wm
Commentators say populism on both sides of the aisle is inevitable. It isn’t. Millions of voters across Britain want pragmatic, pro-growth politics - and that can come from a serious centre-right Conservative Party.

Well said. It would be good to see our front bench be a little clearer in their condemnation of the destructive and insulting behaviour of the US President
“We’ve never needed them. We have never really asked anything of them. You know, they’ll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan, or this and that. And they did, they stayed a little back, a little off the front lines” I served in Afghanistan. I saw first hand the sacrifices

You were one of the High Priestesses of Brexit - hostile to decisions taken within the EU involving British participation. Now you want to encourage @potus to veto matters within the sovereignty of the UK. These are matters for British decision-making
Trump has killed the awful Chagos deal. Let’s hope he’ll do the same to the dangerous Chinese Embassy plans The Special Relationship is over, as I warned last year. 👇

This explains why those in the White House are vexed that Ukraine feels that it has the right to defend itself rather than rolling over before a more powerful Russian neighbour. They believe that might is right. God help the world

What absolute baloney! Unfortunately, and I have been an Atlanticist European throughout my life, the Trump Administration is trashing the rules based international order and, through its policies on Ukraine, tariffs and Greenland, destroying the West
'These tariffs are a massive slap down for the globalists from President Trump.' Ben Leo reacts to Trump’s new 10% tariff on goods from the UK and several European countries. 'President Trump is trying to save the West from itself.'

Are you suggesting that there may be some inconsistency between Nadhim Zahawi's speeches and his current embrace of Nigel Farage? What could his motive be???
Just re-watching Nadhim Zahawi's speech "Immigration is good for Britain" in which he argues immigration is great and reducing it is a terrible idea. https://t.co/HLNF5tVHYX

This is very poor from Kemi Badenoch. Greenland should be a second order issue because the US should not be threatening violence against a NATO ally - but it is threatening to breach international law and to basically replicate what Putin is doing in Ukraine
"Greenland... is a second order issue" Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch says there are more important issues in global politics than Donald Trump's attempts to acquire Greenland, such as the protests in Iran #BBCLauraK

Superb Edward Heath Forum event in conjunction with the Europe House Liaison Office. The Rt Hon Liam Byrne MP, Chair of Business and Trade Select Committee, delivered a masterful analysis of trade policy in connection with China and wider international priorities. This reflected

The US Administration should read this new paper from US think tank CSIS on the right approach to Greenland and its mineral wealth

Greenland holds globally significant rare earth resources, but harsh conditions and weak infrastructure have stalled mining. U.S. interests are best advanced not through coercion, but coordinated...

It is clearly absurd for @POTUS to aspire to be awarded a Nobel Peace Prize whilst threatening armed force against Greenland - together with expressing contempt for international law that is fundamental to keeping the peace
Trump again expressed his intent to take over Greenland: “The fact that they [Denmark] had a boat land there [Greenland] 500 years ago doesn’t mean they own the land. I’m sure we had lots of boats go there also.”

We have a lot ahead of us in 2026. Taking Greenland shouldn’t be on that list. Instead, we should continue building relationships—through trade, tourism, cultural exchange, and indigenous governance—rather than sending provocative messages that undo decades of trust.

This sounds suspiciously like looting. The natural resources of Venezuela are part of the national patrimony of the Venezuelan people and not open for seizure by the US
Watters: How does taking out a dictator in Venezuela help the average American? Vance: It means is we are going to be able to control the incredible natural resources of Venezuela

Interesting that the US will be leaving the Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Metals and Sustainable Development - which does excellent policy work on critical minerals - supposedly a US priority
