The NHS need to act in the best interest of the patient. Not on a diagnosis. Not wait for multi agencies. Sick of hearing about people let down by systems that are put on a pedestal. I'm not having a go at particular individuals but individuals can push to change things.

May be a trigger: disgusted but not surprised to hear this. Not being allowed outside is a breach of human rights and will definitely have led to her deterioration. So glad she has a guardian who understands the system and can fight for her. 1/2

When a child (or anyone for that matter) is struggling with their mental health and they or their families ask for help - being told no or wait 6 months is so crushing, so damaging. We are failing young people and more needs to be done!

Amazing charities like Place2Be are doing such an amazing job of training teachers but it needs to be part of initial teacher training so staff are equipped to support young people. And there ABSOLUTELY has to be the professional support and services to back this up.

It's horrifying that I'm not surprised by this. I work in complex needs and have been disgusted by the lack of support available for young people. It's fair to say though that this is no fault of the CAMHS teams. They literally have so few resources to support such a huge group.

My son was just awarded a 2nd class honours degree from Nottingham. He left primary school unable to read/write even his name. I didn’t think he’d be able to even sit a GCSE. Never put a glass ceiling on neurodiversity unless you’d like to shatter it. I’ll bathe in the shards
