Some potential negatives:. - will Deuce become Keon Ellis (aka analytic darling who can’t get consistent big minutes?).- his press conferences got a little wonky late stages in SAC (“possession after possession after possession…”) I’m willing to blame SAC for breaking him.

In terms of changes from Thibs that could be good:. - Brown has proven willing to play small guards together.- Brown’s latest offense in SAC emphasized ball and player movement.- Brown played Sabonis is very aggressive P&R coverage due to his limitations. Schematic diversity on D.

Oh - additionally, I like this hire. Brown has shown ability to develop a dynamic and creative offense, but maintains Thibs’ standard of focus and discipline. A nice combo. And, he can handle the chair from a media perspective. That is NO SMALL THING in this market.

My not-often-enough reminder that we at KFS and the larger Knicks online community are extraordinarily lucky to have the great Jeremy Cohen as our resident General Manager. This man is the greatest Knicks content resource on the planet.
With the signing of Jordan Clarkson, the Knicks are $9.22M below the second apron. They have 11 players under contract and are not currently hard-capped. Trading out a player via S&T, aggregating salaries, sending out cash, or using the TMLE would hard cap NY at the second apron.

More to come on Yabu, but worth mentioning the 24-25 Philly Dumpster Fire was 7.5 p/100 better with him on the floor. Provides versatility to play small, ATB shooting, and, as my friend and unfortunate PHI fan @Zpeskinator put it: "works hard. gives a f***".

Replacing Porter with Johnson and Saric with JV is good business for Denver, who had very limited pathways to improving the team. I anticipate some wild and wacky Jokic + JV lineups that I can't wait for.

Free agent center Guerschon Yabusele has agreed to a two-year, $12 million contract with the New York Knicks, plus a player option, sources tell ESPN. The Knicks negotiated the new deal with agents Olivier Mazet and Richie Felder for the big man on Tuesday.

Can I just say re Cam Payne (who it appears just got replaced):. I know the shot fell off bad second half of year but he was a TERRIFIC signing at the minimum and outperformed that contract. Played on some dynamite lineups, defended well enough, and won a darn playoff game.

A small concern:. KAT (and the team actually) played best with Towns as THE focus of the second unit. Blitzed teams all year long to start second quarters. Clarkson needs to prioritize Towns as a partner if he’s taking those Payne minutes. Really important for KAT (and team).
