What are the load-bearing posts of our time? Obviously 'facing god and walking backwards into hell' and 'miette' are up there. Does Ed Balls still count? PS if you can parse this you should probably log off
I got off this cursed website and logged into the Bernie dialer and I am hitting a LOT of undecided voters in Michigan... do a shift tonight, it is firing me up and maybe even making a difference!

This might surprise some folks, and it surprises me a little too, considering which way I’ve been leaning for months, but... like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez & Rashida Tlaib & Ilhan Omar and millions of others across the country I’m officially for Bernie Sanders for president. 1/13
1. Salena Zito wrote an intellectually dishonest, inaccurate, anti- everyone-but-rich-people column today. That, in itself, probably isn't news. But it's funny that she's used the same exact same Trump supporter FOUR TIMES recently.
Well, this jumped off. I don't have anything to plug. Join a union, vote for democratic socialists and follow me for bad opinions about good teams (Grizzlies, Steelers, Man City) and good opinions about suspect teams (Orioles, the Democratic Party).
.
@BenJealous
didn’t grow up in MD because his parents, an interracial couple, could not legally marry here. He returned YEARS ago.
Despite knowing this, Valerie Ervin calls Jealous a “carpetbagger.”
Rushern Baker’s campaign should be ashamed. Disgusting.
NEWS: The Senate has unanimously agreed to hold speedy votes today on 15 more Trump-nominated judges—THREE on circuit courts and TWELVE on district courts—so they can get out of town.
All are for lifetime appointments.
10. Shame on Salena Zito, her editors and these publications. A national writer shouldn't use the same guy four times in 15 months to represent a whole segment of the electorate, even if he *was* the blue-collar average Joe she implied he is.
@Comey
And by the way, Jimmy C., everyone under 40 has had access to overseas media our whole lives, and all of us know that the Sanders platform IS the “center” in every rich country but this one. We want an America that’s more like Canada or Europe. Make peace with it.
- Bernie is significantly better than everyone on foreign policy. He’s the only candidate prepared to cancel America’s amoral submission to Saudi Arabia and to declare that Palestinian rights are exactly the same as Israeli rights, which is to say that they are human rights. 5/13
2. The headline on this piece referred to (and still returns to, in the thumbnail) "blue-collar voters" she says she talked to. Actually, she talked to a *general surgeon* and his rich family, and no one else.
4. She writes, "They are the upper-middle-class suburban voters who live in a blue-collar. upper-middle-class exurb," either because she thinks that means something or because she gathers that her readers and all of us are stupid.
- All available evidence indicates that Sanders is well positioned to beat Trump. In fact, many polls suggest he’s our strongest potential nominee in this regard. 6/13
- Warren’s domestic policy agenda is great, but Bernie’s is even better, starting with his unflinching support for Medicare for All, but also including his climate change and wealth tax plans. America will be a better place for more people under a President Sanders. 4/13
- Bernie is the trustee of a racially, ethnically, gender-diverse and disproportionately young movement of engaged working people. It is urgent for our country’s future — for my son’s and all our children’s future! — that this movement grow and endure. At the moment... 7/13
White liberals only care about Trump because he makes them feel uncomfortable. Why weren’t you all in the streets when black ppl were being slaughtered under Obama?
For every like this tweet earns between now and like 1140pm ET, I’ll chip in a pre-deadline dollar to Bernie. I’ve had two drinks so you know I’ll do it, but max $100 because the booze ain’t free
9. Still, the greatest sin here is Zito's implication that Doc Ripepi is some special kind of voter. Hems not. He is *literally* the 1 percent. He was always voting for Trump.
(Relatedly, I’m going to spend exactly zero minutes tearing down Warren. This week’s debate confirmed that the media will give lots of extra time to dream-small centrists like Amy Klobuchar; we don’t need to help with their attacks.) 12/13
...as Congresswomen Ocasio-Cortez, Tlaib and Omar have recognized through their endorsements, the best way to further strengthen this movement is to rally behind the candidate currently leading it: Bernie Sanders. 8/13
(Bernie, for his part, understands that politics is about securing, maintaining and using power, and the only true permanent source of power is the people.) 9/13
3. Now the headline says something about "this Pennsylvania house," headed by Dr. Anthony Ripepi. She datelines it Venetia, disguising that everyone would ID Peters Township outside Pittsburgh as a place rich people live.
Most importantly, Warren would be the Democratic party’s most progressive nominee ever, and if she prevails, I will work my ass off for her.
But Bernie has earned my support, and I think he should have yours as well. Here are the five main reasons why. 3/13
For Maryland moderates who are like “I’ll vote for
@LarryHogan
because he seems modestly competent”: James Brady was Hogan’s campaign chair. Your “competent” governor thought Brady would make a good leader of the Board of Regents.
We can do better. Vote for
@BenJealous
.
James Brady, the chairman of the University System of Maryland’s Board of Regents, resigned Thursday, overtaken by the whirlwind of controversy at the state’s flagship university that began with the June death of football player Jordan McNair.
I have contributed money to both Sanders and Warren so far, and I will probably continue to do so, because it is frankly urgent that one of these two becomes the nominee. There is no good third option. 11/13
5. What a find, this Dr. Anthony Ripepi. Especially back when she first quoted him to embody all Trump supporters while downplaying his wealth, in November 2016.

My mind is made up that white supremacy exists and way too many stories told about nonwhite children are garbage... indeed, it is.

@GlennF
Oh, jeez, I dunno, a centuries-long track record of mainstream conversation selling children of color short? Are we really doing this
SEVERAL folks who were planning to vote for Warren and are now undecided or leaning Bernie.
NO ONE who gave me a hard time, NO ONE expressed actual affection for Biden and everyone heard me out!
Let’s go!!
Elizabeth Warren is wonderful. She is almost certainly the second best U.S. senator we’ve got. She has proven to be a persuasive campaigner. She has a clear vision. She would be the first woman president!... 2/13
On Juneteenth, we as Americans are reminded of the triumph of the human spirit over the cruelty of slavery—achieved through the courage of extraordinary men and women, great Marylanders like Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman.
May we continue working to realize the vision

Last night, Joe Biden defended his warm relationship with the segregationist quoted here, James Eastland. Today, Cory Booker, a Black presidential candidate, said Biden should apologize. Biden’s response: “Cory should apologize.” Get Biden off the stage, immediately and forever.
@GovRonDeSantis
@flcourts
A reminder that Tom Steyer or Michael Bloomberg could each *personally* write a check to re-enfranchise every single one of these voters, but they’re running single-digit vanity presidential campaigns instead
@waitmanb
If you’re not pro-genocide, why are you spending time yelling at people to vote for a president and a party who are joyfully aiding and abetting genocide? Like, what’s the nuance I’m missing here
“We want to make Donald Trump’s blood pressure go up. Vote for a civil rights leader for governor.”

The *very first* thing I said when I read the affidavit was, “Countdown to when a prep-school jagoff shits on Gaithersburg HS.” God, these people are ghouls.
Buried in the last graf is this Kavanaugh-classmate gem: "I don't remember anyone from Prep hanging out with public school girls, especially from Gaithersburg."
Sanders and Warren supporters should unite around the following: Reporters and pundits who write like “taxes” are more important than overall cost of living for families are intellectually dishonest and must be criticized and discredited every single day for the next year.
1. Salena Zito wrote an intellectually dishonest, inaccurate, anti- everyone-but-rich-people column today. That, in itself, probably isn't news. But it's funny that she's used the same exact same Trump supporter FOUR TIMES recently.
If you want to downplay Steve Ballmer donating $25 million as pocket change to the average person, that's on you.
You know what the average person is doing? Not donating pocket change, they're hoarding toilet paper. So don't be so miserable, everyone's on the same team.
I think
@UAW
workers probably saved my life today. Thank you for building this car that kept me safe so I can see my son turn seven in two days.
