@ProfDBernstein David, your tweet is false. The DHS memo explicitly acknowledges (1) Ozturk was not a member of SJP and (2) she “was not involved in any of the activities” triggering SJP’s suspension. Also, being a member of a group “deemed supportive” of terrorism is still protected 1A activity

Disrupting a church service is contrary to American values and a stupid form of protest. Full 🛑 But if your concept of Christianity is to be more upset about what happens inside your church building than what is happening in the community you minister to, you’ve lost the plot.

Christ cleansed the Temple when worship lost its soul. While ICE violates constitutional rights in Minneapolis and the faith is disgraced by a minister who is literally an officer for ICE, a church’s property status is not the moral crisis I’m personally losing sleep over.
There is no right to interrupt a church service to protest. You are violating the rights of your fellow citizens when you do. It's inexcusable, and vital for MN authorities to protect the right of people to peacefully worship.
