Hi, I'm Simon and I started my birdwatching journey in 2007. I consider my skills as average with a fondness for garden birds. My main birdwatching areas are Troon and the North cliffs where I monitor breeding birds. I aim to provide an inclusive learning environment for all.

Owl prowl in the local woods tonight, no Tawny's calling but did see a Roe Deer. Maybe 600+ Jackdaw leaving the pre-roost tonight.

Thrilled when this 2cy Iceland Gull flew over the road in front of us by the A30 layby at Crowlas on Saturday morning and landed in the field to the north. The better photos are by Pete! @CBWPS1 @BTO_Cornwall

This is the second Booted Eagle to be recorded on @BirdTrack in Cornwall. The first was a bird recorded on 31st Oct 1999, recorded by multiple observers around the Drift / Morvah area. The bird was present for at least a week and Philps make the best pasties. @CBWPS1

The Coot is extremely territorial during the breeding season and fights are well worth watching when they break out. Birds will swim/run great distances to join in. The Peak count on @BirdTrack for Coot in Cornwall was in 2006 when 400+ were recorded at Loe Pool Helston @CBWPS1

Since 2015 in the south west, the annual peak count of garden use by Blackcaps has been in January 7 times, February once and March twice. This use of gardens by Blackcap can only be demonstrated by the dedication of the @_BTO community of @BTO_GBW 'ers weekly surveys. @CBWPS1
