It is so blatant now. Yet they still don’t get it. That even their own racism was created for them by the wealthy to keep them poor. Will they ever get it?

From what we can tell Mamdani walked into that office, stood there quietly, spoke when spoken to, and allowed Donald Trump to basically destroy any opportunity that the Republicans planned on using moving forward. https://t.co/4uWh648S0o He admitted he was a fascist, and then on

So proud of our close friend Gigi Cervantes in taking a bold stand of conscience against the Christian Nationalism (neither Christian nor American) of @GregAbbott_TX's & @danpatrick's Ten Commandments bill. #txlege #txed Defeat this in #2026Elections! https://t.co/hBSQjbm7Dg

Doing what's best for the kids is always the right choice, even if it costs you your job. When your results are 3x better than Mike Miles' "prison curriculum," that's just the cherry on top. 🍒 #EducationMatters #StandUpForKids

How many opportunities for good teaching are lost every day due to bad curriculum? It's been 3 years since the changeover and I'm still finding my way back to what works

Reminder-to-self: how students see their own learning matters way, way more than how we see their learning. Which is why it's really, really cool to have a system to help understand the way students feel about how they are doing throughout the school year:

The problem with building a thing is that, once it’s built, folks will try to burn it down. Burning down seems to be in vogue these days. We are seeing, in real time, institutions that have i…

"We're there to be humans in the room with other humans talking about ideas" The case by @MattRKay in this conversation: never more than now have classroom discussions been needed, in both quantity and quality. (And that quantity and quality? Not an easy thing.)

Ditto for elementary
School districts creating secondary literacy curriculum that doesn’t include novels during a ‘literacy crisis’ is baffling & counterproductive. Stakeholders: your district doesn’t value your kids’ ability to read and think if their secondary English class is merely test prep.

Super generous. Will be using :) My fav teaching twitter is “here’s something cool” teaching twitter
A couple summers ago I made a slide deck of innovative sentence exemplars from my favorite books and authors to use as a tool in the classroom. This summer? I'm making another slide deck: using sentences students wrote in our own classroom. (This is so much fun!)

From early on, we teach our children that feeling good about themselves requires them to perform for us. When they are young we give them stickers and certificates when they do what we say. We praise them for ‘being good’ and give them consequences when they disrupt our plans.

If you don’t have a current teacher in the room, you don’t have an expert on current classroom *anything* in the room. It’s easy for me to say now, but I pray I’ll have the humility to still say it when I move on.
I wanna see more classroom teachers delivering keynotes, facilitating workshops, and given space and larger platforms to talk about what’s working/not working with students in this moment. Too many educator conferences, not nearly enough current teacher voices and experiences.
