I am genuinely confused about the outrage over banning phones from classrooms. I doubt kids are allowed to be on their phones during sports practice, but nobody complains about that??.

Students need every reminder possible that AI isnāt *thinking* - it hasnāt done *research* - itās just making words.

Iām not normally one for semantic battles, but educators probably shouldnāt use the word āciteā when describing students and AI. We cite ideas. Humans have ideas. Language Models donāt have ideas. They just spit out language.

Some kids have a hard time sitting still for 45 minutes. Frankly, I donāt blame them. Iām sort of mature and I donāt like sitting still that long either.
