So honoured to see our work featured @CTVNews @JereRodriguezzz. This endeavour began in Sept via #Equity4educators network. As the demands for these resources grew, others joined along the way. TY to all who supported this labour of love. The strength of working in communityšŸ–¤šŸ¤Ž

For those frantically trying to find speakers for Black History Month, PAY Black people as generously as you do celebrity white speakers. Don’t make them ask, offer it upfront. Don’t make them follow up. Facilitate it after. Value them. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

That positive phone call home to caregivers does wonders. Disrupt the predictable pattern. Make it so our families don’t associate schools calls with negativity and harm. Let us know that our babies are seen and valued. Make that call!

Nobody should be able to sell Every Child Matters lessons on Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) as a side hustle. Anyone who buys these lessons is supporting those who profit off the collective grief and trauma of Indigenous people. This is NOT #Reconciliation. #EveryChildMatters

In all things facilitating learning, pursue pedagogical excellence. We can say yes to increasing belonging, discussing personal identity, being culturally responsiveness, etc. but at the end of the day, Pedagogy and embodiment are the bridges between intent and impact.

As students and teachers start the school year with the promise of new beginnings, this is your annual reminder that many #Muslim teachers in #Quebec will not get this opportunity simply because they wear a #hijab.

I hope every classroom today prepares space for children to discuss the tragedy in Buffalo. Combatting hate begins by acknowledging white supremacy ideology. The @tdsb Equity, Anti-Racism & Anti-Oppression team has some suggestions on how to get started: https://t.co/e2prkh7zTw

One thing I love about @GholdyM Cultivating Genius is that it challenges the fallacy that liberation is separate from students "achieving". Purpose matters. We don't read just cause. Literacy should be a joyful, rigorous act that sets the stage for self-love, power &agency.

When you don't fight against violent systems, you experience violence. When you fight against violent systems (to change them), you (still) experience violence (sometimes moreso).

Today is the first day of #WomensHistoryMonth. Women have shaped U.S. history in revolutionary ways, often by insisting on being their authentic selves. These stories don’t always make the textbooks. But you can teach them. https://t.co/VWkV8sU5DH
