This sentiment, whilst understandable, is an appeal to ignorance. Simply, patterns within chaotic systems can be modelled. Thankfully we have rather brilliant science communicators on hand such as @skdh. Watch and learn. https://t.co/a9r8NBLG5t
Matt goes to the heart of it. With current measurement technology and state-of-the-art computers it is still impossible to predict the weather more than a few days ahead. Yet these same people, with the same technology, think they can model long term climate change. They can't.

As someone here reminded me earlier today, time helps us think about this scale of wealth: A million seconds ago was less than 2 weeks ago: June 27th 2023 A billion seconds ago? 1992 A trillion seconds ago? tens of thousands of years before recorded human history: 29665 BCE
According to new research, U.S. multinational corporations funneled at least $1.2 trillion into offshore tax havens between 1998 and 2018. Don’t tell me that corporations can’t afford to pay their fair share.

Two inaccuracies here: (1) We have *already* changed the chemical makeup of the atmosphere enough to induce meaningful changes to the climate by burning fossil fuels (2) Deforestation and agriculture do also add significant quantities of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere
@MuskUniversity Important to note that what happens on Earth’s surface (eg farming) has no meaningful impact on climate change. Overwhelmingly, the risk of climate change is due to moving billions of tons of carbon from deep underground into the atmosphere. Over time, if we keep doing this,

This is climate denial. The richest person in the world has become a dangerous source of misinformation. We are in a climate emergency — and it is being caused by fossil fuel burning, land use change (like farming), and people like Elon who intentionally profit from it.

Don’t want to go over the top, but this is absolutely jaw-dropping. Someone who was in the cabinet when legislation on voter ID was agreed and went through parliament acknowledges it WAS an attempt to gerrymander the elections

Former cabinet minister says government attempt to suppress Labour support backfired and made it harder for Conservatives to vote.

++IMPORTANT++ Today, people OUTSIDE voting areas may try and turn you away for not having/having the wrong ID. ONLY allow yourself to be refused by the officers INSIDE. The outside bouncers are there to prevent a proper record of those turned away
