Not just a new concept car. A new concept. Thanks to Bray & Co and Phiaro!
Meet DarkSky One, a first-of-its-kind concept car designed for the night. Created by DarkSky International with Bray & Co and Phiaro, it challenges the idea that darkness is something to eliminate rather than design for. Explore: https://t.co/EXJtjsGqK0

Looking forward to this timely conversation. My international work began after the first of seven visits to #Iran in 1999. I still work with people there and hoped to return this year. From the US to #Ukraine where I was a year ago, we need to look up now more than ever. @tparsi
So much is pulling us apart lately. This Thursday, we’re talking about what has always brought humanity together: the stars. ✨ Join our X Space with @Astro_MikeS Simmons, founder of Astronomers Without Borders, who has spent 40+ years using astronomy to connect people across

Did you know that worldwide light pollution levels have increased by 10% per year in the last decade?😳 How do we know this? 🤔 Since 2006, @GlobeAtNight has been collecting data and it shows the problem is worse than expected. 📷NOIRLab/NSF/AURA/R. Sparks & P. Marenfeld

New Year from Spaaaaace! Turn the brightness up and watch the celebrations.
Are Fireworks visible from the @Space_Station station? That would be a big YES! This view shows thousands of firework shows happening just after midnight across Italy, captured via @sen's SpaceTV-1 4K external camera payload on the ISS Happy New Year! Jan 1, 2026 00:07cet -

LED lighting is more efficient and thus cheaper. It makes it easy for cities to expand lighting. But the effect on you and your family is much worse. Blue light at night harms us in many ways. Only use lights that convert raw LED light to warmer colors below 2700 K.
💡 Different colours = different lighting technologies. 👀 Compare 2017 vs 2022: artificial light is shifting towards whiter tones. 📸 @cities4tnight @esa @Space_Station

An important white paper to read for anyone interested in how large satellite constellations affect radio astronomy: "Quiet Skies Report: A Primer on Protecting Radio Astronomy in the Age of Satellite Mega-Constellations" by Greg Hellbourg (CalTech) https://t.co/pDhG0MrkRc

The rapid expansion of satellite constellations is transforming the radio-frequency environment around the Earth. At the same time, radio astronomy is entering a new era of sensitivity and survey...

Do you think we need to keep our lights pointed toward the ground rather than lighting up the sky? Here’s a way you can contribute to important research.
Anyone can help monitor light pollution, all you need is a smartphone! 🤳🌌 Join Globe at Night for our last sky-measuring campaign of 2025, running December 14–23. Whether you use a phone, tablet, or computer, every single measurement matters. 🔗 https://t.co/F9IpGOKycj

Andacollo Stadium in Chile has gone dark — literally! 🌌 Working with @OPCCChile and @aurainchile, new stadium lights now shine only on the field, saving energy and the dark sky. 📷1️⃣ CTIO/NOIRLab/NSF/AURA/J. Sayago 📷2️⃣ CTIO/NOIRLab/NSF/AURA/G. Damke

This is no surprise for anyone who has been to Iran. Coalescing around a nationalist position is what I saw after the “Axis of Evil” speech and other times. Western leaders have failed to understand Iran repeatedly, choosing instead to project their own ideas of what to expect.
Just back from Tehran—one of the few Western analysts on the ground since the June war. The mood in Iran isn't panic, but sober defiance. They are preparing for Round 2 with Israel while seeking a diplomatic off-ramp with the US. My report for @amconmag

Here’s the reality about comet 3I/ATLAS. Yes, our @SETIInstitute network now has multiple observations — and they show the comet is exactly where predictions said it would be. No drama, no mystery, no “unexpected disruption.” The recent claim that 3I “disintegrated” came from
