In Stamford, a rule change that would prohibit the public from "personal attacks" on elected officials drew a mixed response circling around the same point: the process of leaving a public comment is a crappy way to know what the public thinks. We can do better.

Stamford has never declared as a "sanctuary" city but the issue — as far as I've researched — has never been brought up. However, current Mayor Caroline Simmons was a State Rep. when the Trust Act was amended in 2019. She was absent the day of the vote.

I applied @GreenPlusAnE 's Total Boomer Luxury Communism to Stamford where this issue influences housing. Boomers refuse to downsize and organize to block new housing. But there's good news: 1/2 elected boomers lost re-election and Boomers are no longer the biggest voting bloc.
