Mom and pop housing providers have been begging for a seat at the table for years. We are the largest segment of rental property ownership yet excluded from policy discussions. Instead, policy makers have relied on tenant "advocate" lobbyist insulated by their DC white papers.

Congrats @calculatedrisk You've been a steadfast lighthouse and a true class act the entire time. I'm smarter because of you and will keep reading whatever you write. https://t.co/2Ok7qwc8e0

"We don't want 40 condos and a dozen townhomes near our downtown even though the master plan we created ten years ago says as much, we prefer 3 mini mansions instead." -every fiefdom in Chicagoland
The Oswego Planning and Zoning Commission recently voted 5-2 to recommend denial of a concept plan for a residential development near the Fox River. https://t.co/hEcKg61sSb

Blocking new housing doesn't stop rich people from moving in. Instead, it means unleashing them on the existing housing stock. In SF, increased demand from the tech boom was not met with new supply, so landlords withdrew their rentals to sell to tech workers. 1/

NYT: Do you think there’s room within the Republican coalition, the Make America Great movement, for people with antisemitic views? Trump: No, I don’t. I think we don’t need them. I think we don’t like them. NYT: Do you condemn those views? Trump: Certainly. NYT: Do you think

More from the Bears letter to season ticket holders, featuring the new seating bowl and pricing options:
Striking while the iron's hot: amid Bears fever, the team has sent out surveys, seating bowl designs, and potential pricing for a new stadium. Included in the survey is whether or not fans would support a stadium in NW Indiana. The top PSL price for club level seats on the 50 yd

Bunch of total boomer luxury communists
Notice how “progressive” protests are suddenly… very White? That didn’t happen by accident. A few reasons why: 1️⃣ The money dried up. After the BLM grift exposure and the Trump-era DEI backlash, funding for Black-led NGOs collapsed. When the checks stopped, so did the

Populist right economics is even dumber than the leftwing nonsense I frequently criticize. These idiots in the Trump admin think a BS legal charge will get the Fed to lower rates. It won’t. Instead markets will drive long term borrowing rates higher over Fed independence concerns

I am not a fan of Powell, but I agree with him on Trump’s motivation. This is part of the reason gold is soaring to record highs this evening. In truth, Powell and Trump are wrong: monetary policy is too loose, and interest rates are too low.

Incredible, Powell should have lowered rates sooner but has been the only person preventing home prices from running out of control in the Midwest and Northeast.
This is absurd… Trump’s DOJ is now threatening Jerome Powell with criminal indictment: "This new threat of criminal charges is a consequence of setting interest rates based on our best assessment of what will serve the public, rather than the preferences of the President."

TOMORROW: Communism may be alive and well in American politics, but it's not contained to California or New York. The biggest redistribution grift is actually taxing Millenials and paying out to the wealthiest of Baby Boomers. If that sounds crazy or impossible, you have to

Chicago is investigating how residents learned of a meeting to hike their property taxes. It’s a story that reads like The Onion. Chicago Board of Education President Sean Harden called a special meeting over the Christmas holiday. He had one objective: Quietly pass a $25

If you claim to support human rights yet can’t bring yourself to show solidarity with those fighting for their liberty in Iran, you’ve revealed yourself. You don’t give a damn about people being oppressed and brutalised so long as it’s being done by the enemies of your enemies.
