CAZ, like any new policy can present challenges and, in some cases, their introduction has caused a higher-than-normal level of opposition. To help cities navigate these challenges, the guidance considers the wider regulatory and political context, among other issues.
📢 NEW: 'Clean Air Zones: Practical guidance for cities' aims to support policy makers who are interested in CAZs as a tool to tackle #AirPollution. It draws on years of experience from city officials, with insights for cities at all stages of their clean air journey ⬇️ @Arup

Why we should talk about Ozone and why now?
With sweeping implications for #ClimateChange, health and agriculture, tropospheric ozone contributes 0.23°C of #GlobalWarming. Our report calls for urgent action to address the dangerous super pollutant📖👉 https://t.co/JWtAqbNWkw

The "other" kind of Ozone is bad for climate, health, food security, and forest productivity. By targeting tropospheric ozone, we can achieve multiple wins!
Tropospheric ozone is one of the super pollutants driving half of global warming 🤯🌎 Yet dedicated action to reduce it is absent from the climate policy agenda at a global, regional, and country level. Reducing tropospheric ozone has untapped potential to mitigate the impact

We can't ignore the super pollutants now. We need coordinated action to mitigate air pollutants, GHGs and super-pollutants together. Reducing super pollutants means addressing food security, stability of Asian water towers and safeguarding the arctic.
Super pollutants play a significant role in global warming and #Climate tipping points. We're proud to host an official @UNFCCC #COP29 side event tomorrow with @orfonline, coinciding with the launch of our new policy brief for action on tropospheric ozone! 👀 To livestream
