MUYIWA OKI ELECTED AS THE NEXT RIBA PRESIDENT This campaign has demonstrated exactly how a grassroots movement of workers and students can overcome the inertia of our institutions. Huge congratulations to @Muyiwa_Oki and big up everyone that joined us in this campaign đź–¤

Every year, we have more and more evidence that @RIBA Chartered Practices are violating the Code of Practice with no repercussions. It is long overdue for the institute to take a firm stance on this issue. It is time to ban unpaid overtime.

When I told @owenjonesjourno that “an entire language was constructed to put distance between Israel and its actions” at @BBCNews, this is what I meant. “Appears” casts doubt on the reliability of the video, which came from the phone of @PalestineRCS paramedic 1/3
“Appears to contradict” It’s a VIDEO that clearly shows Palestinian emergency vehicles with their lights flashing before Israeli troops fire on them for 5 straight minutes. “Israel murdered medics, buried the evidence, then lied to cover it up,” that’s your headline!

Some takes age well. Some don’t.
this is a terrible, terrible take from Jan Boelen: "Elon Musk is the biggest architect of our time. He is building the biggest infrastructures around us. And he's not even asking anybody permission for that. He's just doing it."—Jan Boelen https://t.co/D7xnpO6ILF

To nobody's surprise or astonishment the 'free speech on campus' movement, which so assiduously attacked students and faculty over the last decade, mysteriously evaporated as soon as this issue emerged.
It has become Impossible to speak about the plight of the Palestinians, and particularly about the mass murder in Gaza, at any university in the US

There is deep + transformative possibility for the region at the intersection of skills, built environment, retrofit, health, + deep possibility in our homes, streets and neighbourhood + dignified transition of work for the deeply skilled such as construction workers.

The ACSA suspended its bylaws to form a secret, unelected committee to review and advise it on our journal’s forthcoming issue on Palestine. After a year of bullshit that ended in the issue’s cancellation, we’ve exhausted our options for salvaging it. Our entire board resigns.

What was the instruction to AI here? "Write a meaningless word salad tweet about AI and architects" would be my guess.
In the age of AI, we can be experts who shape the skylines – and the future. Amid the hyper-generalist era generative AI is ushering in, architects can be specialists maximising their social value and pushing for transformative change, argues @Muyiwa_Oki: https://t.co/XowoKfeaD4
