I've been playing around with some @StatsBomb 360 data to try and identify different types of forwards. Can clearly see the differences between a Messi who likes to drop deep and receive the ball in space, versus a Giroud who will play on shoulder of last defender, for example.

I used @StatsBomb 's 360 data to take a look at Everton's out-of-possession shape, and you can see numerous examples of three Everton defenders protecting "the V" when Arsenal have the ball in wide areas - as Dyche discusses in his Coaches Voice video.

I thought this might be something interesting to look at, and it errr… kind of is. The answer to the question posed is 🤷🏻‍♂️ There’s too many unknowns in the 30-seconds in between, and it very much has a “good teams in top right” feel. But maybe there’s something… @StatsBomb

Delved a little deeper into my analysis of Rangers. By excluding passes in the defensive 3rd we can get a better idea of how they shape up in attack. Full backs play just as high as forwards. Generally good connectivity between all forwards/midfielders.

What type of passes do Scottish Premiership teams use to progress the ball (anywhere on the pitch and specifically into the final 3rd)?

How are Scottish Premiership's goalkeepers performing this season? ▪️ Craig Gordon has conceded 6 fewer goals than expected this season. ▪️ Dundee Utd have suffered most at the hands of oppo. goalkeepers having a stormer. ▪️ Ross County games see 'keepers struggle at both ends.

Watching final game of the season from a pub in York. One last push to get top 4, but European football regardless. Proud to have contributed in a (very) small way to what @dundeeunitedfc have achieved this season.

Shankland's touchmap (shooting left to right) showing that he brings much more to the team than just goals. More than willing to drop deep and/or go out wide to get on the ball.

@PureFitbaw @ScotlandNT Agree it doesn't look great, but it probably needs a bit more context before warranting any outrage? What sort of training is he involved in? I'm no expert, but I assume there's a difference between being match fit and fit enough to do some training.

Quite interesting to see the impact that Powers had when introduced today. Clear (forward) shift in average position of the team after he came on as sub, versus the first 50 mins (before he came on), with Powers the centre pin of the passing network.

One of the biggest differences with Dundee United in recent weeks has been @32watto ’s performances. Liam Fox is playing him in a central role and he’s having a much more significant impact in front of goal. ( @StatsBomb data)

Luka Modric is still, undoubtedly, Croatia's key man, but Mateo Kovacic (who ranked 5th in the EPL for progressive passes p90 last season) is also a pivotal figure in their build-up play.... #EURO2020 #SCO #CRO

Best 45 minutes of the season. Could have been 4- or 5-0.

I rate Nathan Patterson, but he played 236 minutes and started TWO games in the Scottish Premiership this season.
