MLK III writes a banger op-ed: "The less housing stock we have, the more expensive it is. So if we want a radically fairer housing market, we have to literally build it." https://t.co/7UyVVE4dKo

I say this with a huge amount of love and respect because I enjoy visiting here, but the USA feels on the brink of total financial and social collapse.

Rare glimpses of honesty from senior Russian officials. (Another 🧵 on sanctions.) Elvira Nabiullina, head of the Central Bank: logistical blockade hurts even more than financial sanctions. Supply chains are broken. (1/11)

Is Techmom culture the antidote to Techbro culture? Techmom startups: -Have high standards, compassion for mistakes -Brag about their employees to other techmoms -Thrive on multitasking & spotty childcare (wait that part is bad) -Ask you how your day was a lot -No low rise pants

@madevi This thread is fantastic. Also why I love cats so much. Poor Lexi was a rescue and while thankfully she learned quickly that we will feed her whenever she likes, when she was a kitten she literally grabbed everything she could. Lettuce was the best.

Any quality of life improvements built in low income neighborhoods gentrify them so these investments should be avoided at all costs.

Hybrid working will make urban housing affordability worse, by pushing the wealthy to take up more space, writes @Noahpinion

As more workers split time between home and office, demand for more space and shorter commutes will grow, exacerbating shortages of urban housing in major business centers.

This is a good point. When anti-vaxxers cite their freedoms, constitutional rights, and–the whitest thing of all–the Founding Fathers to rail against vaccine mandates, do they know what they're talking about? What if I told you this happens EXACTLY every 100 years? A thread.

“some AIs were found to be picking up on the text font that certain hospitals used to label the scans. As a result, fonts from hospitals with more serious caseloads became predictors of covid risk” 😬

Some have been used in hospitals, despite not being properly tested. But the pandemic could help make medical AI better.
