My experience has been the opposite. Works super well on established codebases (especially with good docs) and struggles with green-field projects. I suspect itβs because we all use different tools differently.

Iβm scarred from a couple of very hard-to-find bugs AI autocomplete created for me and the personal hell of having to fix those π. So no, never again.

They were interested in making dioramas. Guess who has made several of those last year?. Wood-carving, make-up, nail-painting, sewing, drawing with pencils, etc. etc. the list goes on. and I'm able to participate, help them get started, and ease the friction around it.

Kids like Roblox. I looked at how to make Roblox games using their studio. Bc I had made a few things in other game engines, it was super easy to jump in and make something with them -- and that's satisfying af.

One of the coolest parts of having constant new hobbies is that you learn quite a bit about _everything_. One of the coolest things about _that_ is that when my kids have some kind of an interest, I can dive right into it with them with a bunch of prior knowledge.
