New paper from Citizens Advice on how to deliver tangible growth - which puts money in people’s pockets - in consumer markets. TLDR: Consumer confidence is key & slashing hard won consumer protections without adequate safeguards isn’t the answer. https://t.co/HNiYuTkJke

UK households need tangible economic growth which puts money in their pocket. Consumer confidence is critical - cutting consumer protection is not the answer

When your fixed term telecoms contract comes to an end 📱 🌐, haggling with your provider is one of the ways to avoid your bill shooting up 📈. At @CitizensAdvice, we're worried that not everyone has equal access to these 'hidden deals.' 🧵

UK Govt commitment on Living Standards is welcome. @CitizensAdvice has tracked the collapse in household resilience in real time and the ambition to boost household income should be at the heart of the government’s agenda

Is there a hidden affordability crisis in the heat network sector? Logically yes, but there’s shockingly little data on this. As the new consumer advocate we’ve made it our priority to get to the bottom of it. Read more in Charlotte’s great blog https://t.co/Nx2Bro6IPU

Surveying the wreckage of my house after the first week back at school, including the first ever day at school for my youngest, coincided with a particularly hectic work week. Giving serious thought to whether it might be easier just to blow it up and start again at this point

A 10% rise in energy bills comes at the worst time for millions of families who are still struggling. 1 in 4 people told us these costs could mean they’d have to turn off their heating or hot water. The govt must tackle this challenge and support those who need it most

Great news that @ofgem has extended rules that ensure fairer access to energy deals for all consumers, including 2.3 million households who can’t switch supplier due to debt. A market of unsustainable deals won’t deliver the higher standards and low carbon innovation we need.

I’ve done many ‘scary’ things in my career including live tv interviews, giving evidence to select committees and presentations at large conferences. None have scared me as much as 10 four year old girls coming to my house for a princess unicorn party this morning. Send help.
