neurosurgery, minds, and robots. @neuralink @dellmedschool @texasrobotics | my views only

Any device that can be controlled via computer or phone can be controlled by a Neuralink implant
Participants in our clinical trials have extended digital computer control to physical devices such as assistive robotic arms. Over time, we plan to expand the range of devices controllable via Neuralink.

Good summary from the patient standpoint!
Some people think the @neuralink surgery is scary or dangerous. But here’s the truth: It was one of the easiest experiences of my life.

yep this replication behavior is exactly what @RichardDawkins envisioned when he coined the word “meme”
humans created reels / tiktoks & like 60% of their purpose is pure transmissibility. you watch one & instantly your brain’s doing that rolodex spin of who else needs this injected into their cortex at this very moment.

Honored to receive this year's TRC4 grant to improve minimally invasive tech for spinal trauma surgery -- with my @UTAustin collaborators + @FAlambeigi #ARTSLab @inifoundation
Four UT Austin researchers have been awarded TRC4 grants to advance trauma care from improved nerve injury pain treatment to rehydratable blood powders. Read how innovations for the battlefield can save lives in Texas hospitals ⤵ 🔗 https://t.co/w1KP5MN3tr

How does @Neuralink team makes the best brain model in the world, to help us practice for BCI implants? It pulsates. It has patient-specific anatomy -- right down to the skull contour, scalp thickness, and cortical blood vessels. Brainchild of a very clever guy named Fran...

Skin in the game. I'm now convinced, the prevailing medical research paradigm has much to learn from @bryan_johnson.
I’m going to build an organoid avatar of myself. Thousands of miniature Bryan Johnsons grown on cell culture dishes, each replicating my cellular and organ biology. This living model will let me test the efficacy of supplements, drugs, and nutrition to accelerate safe and

This man speaks the truth
If a hospital can't get a surgeon's preference card correct, they won't have the equipment you need in the OR, and they won't have a surgical team that is familiar with the surgery you will perform. All of these issues may seem trivial, but they are indicative of a lack of focus

and how do we brain overclock ? @inifoundation
Engaging in creative, skill-based activities like dance, music, visual arts, or gaming can reduce your brain's biological age by ~6 years. Researchers measured the 'brain age gap' (the difference between predicted and actual brain age) and found that creative experts had

I don’t yet have enough information to endorse this interpretation of physiologic aging, but this is a very interesting perspective
Aging is a genetic program that can be stopped — and I’m going to explain why. Aging is not an accident, nor a sum of inevitable damages. It is a sequence — an ordered, controlled process, written in the code of life. In other words: it is a genetic program. And every program

Though we were colleagues, I only got to know Prof. Nolan Williams just before I left Stanford for DC last year. He impressed me as a brilliant scientist & a man deeply committed to helping suffering patients. His passing is a true tragedy. May God bless and comfort his family.
Everyone at HHS is mourning the passing of Stanford Professor Dr. Nolan Williams. Dr. Williams envisioned a world where the field of psychiatry addresses the root causes of depression and where patients receive precision treatments tailored to their individual brains. At

There is a strong argument for redefining “asymptomatic” using advanced technology for detection of deficits. The neurological exam is a 19th century paradigm, and subjective assessments are unreliable. These cases are not asymptomatic!

go Nick!!!
Neuralink's human trial participant, Nick Wray shows off true mind-control of his new assistive robotic arm (ARA)! "Life with my BCI has been and continues to be so surreal and so rewarding." Follow @Telepath_8 and @NeuraPod for Neuralink updates. https://t.co/w7CAVs6k4w
