Combined with mass deportations and mass incarceration of violent criminals, self-driving cars and public transit will both increase usage of the other. You can travel a long distance on a public train for a few bucks, then travel the remaining final miles in a self-driving car.
the self driving car is simply a couch that moves. cars won’t compete with other cars. they’ll compete with living rooms, offices, & beds.

There’s a bidirectional car road and a bidirectional bike road running parallel to each other. Both of them have cross-streets likely to cause accidents (called a STROAD). According to people suffering from car-brain, the bike road a bad idea but the car stroad is a good idea.
Ok correction- It is an official bike path that supports bi-directional travel. My opinion- what a horrible idea to create bicycle cross traffic the wrong way through an intersection. Never spotted that before and it should be shit-canned.

Bicycles or walking should be used for all short distance trips. Self-driving cars should be used (mostly underground) for medium distance trips on infrequently traveled routes. Self-driving trains should be used for medium-long distance trips on frequently traveled routes.
