There is a lot of confusion on what constitutes "the Epstein files." So let me explain. (Thread). First, there are the DOJ/FBI federal criminal case files. This is what Congress voted to release this past week. 1.

TRUMP showering praise on Mamdani in the White House may throw House Republicans for a loop. The House GOP has signaled their entire 2026 campaign plan is to tie Democrats to Mamdani

Per @cjwarnke: “Since day one, HMP has been focused on going on offense and expanding the map … No Republican-held seat is safe, and HMP will do whatever it takes to win the House in 2026.”

OTOH the race MAY actually be winnable, and if it ended up as a very close D loss, there might be finger-pointing if a group like HMP didn't get in.

Until recently, the EPA had a pretty legendary group of scientists using cutting-edge computer science to speed up chemical toxicity research. This team helped with East Palestine, w/ GenX, etc. I found that 16 of them have now left for a private lab.

The EPA’s scientists that helped in the aftermath of the East Palestine, Ohio, disaster, are now in the private sector. What does that mean for future crises?

My good friend of over 40 years, Mark Mellman passed today. Mark was one of the really good guys. A fierce believer in the Democratic cause and a sweet man of deep faith. Mark was a top pollster (“sofas, and chairs” he’d say), a brilliant strategist and a mensch. RIP old friend.

Attn media reporters: There's a good story to be done (pegged to the USPS' 250th anniv.) about how cuts to rural delivery are making it damn near impossible to reliably get newspapers to readers on time. Like lots of weeklies, we deliver via mail. Worked great, until recently.

It’s the Wild West when it comes to where and how data centers get governed. We need federal legislation that provides guardrails to protect the public from risks.

the new median district by 2024 margin is the redrawn Cincinnati seat held by Rep. Greg Landsman (D, OH-1), which Trump won by 2.6 pts previously, the median seat was the open Phoenix-area AZ-1, at Trump +3.1. It moves just one slot to the right on the list from most R to most D
