Scenes from suburban utopia. Or is it suburban hell? I find the stillness to be both enchanting and alienating.

Journalism is supposed to “afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted,” but Bari Weiss seems believe the opposite. My new column

Weiss ought to cut her losses, green-light the piece, and try to start acting like an editor – not like a cog in the machine of authoritarian politics and oligarchy

It’s a damn shame that sports stadiums are losing all of their character. The Bears and Chiefs should not play in domes. Ballparks belong in neighborhoods, not an exurban outdoor shopping mall. The death of a true home field advantage is such a personification of America.

This is true but everything in life is performative now, including sex.
Many aspects of gay life including open relationships and within-reason public sex are meant to just politely exist in a context of need-to-know discretion & a lot of you girls have become obsessed with winning full endorsement of Everything post-Obergefell and you need to chill

I went back to the Boston townie gay bar last night & was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t know anyone! It seems like the gay scene has turned over. Lots of hot 20-somethings wearing more stylish clothes than the typical Boston uniform of tight jeans from 2010. I was impressed!

Look, even if she was cheating on her spouse, she wouldn't deserve to have her life threatened, obviously. But she wasn't! She literally did nothing wrong, morally or even ethically. From her telling, her and her boss were just friends.

Let me get this straight... the woman from the Coldplay kiss cam video was SEPARATED from her partner at the time? And she was turned into a cartoon villain for a spontaneous moment of affection with her boss, who was also SEPARATED from his partner? I feel so bad for her.

Great story from @CydZeigler on a college football star who got kicked off his team for being gay... and then found triumph & redemption

Marcus Hansen says he was removed from the Harding football team when coaches discovered he was gay. At Minnesota State he has thrived.

The Bears should move to East Chicago, Indiana. See how that works out for them. Pathetic and loathsome franchise.
The Bears are playing the Packers for first place on Saturday at Soldier Field and the team decides to leak news about looking at building a stadium in Northwest Indiana. True PR brain geniuses.

The enshittification of CBS News under Bari Weiss has been something to watch. It happened so fast!
Doorbell footage shows an Indiana DoorDash driver spraying an unknown substance onto a food delivery order. The driver could face charges related to food and/or product tampering, according to Vanderburgh County Sheriff Noah Robinson. When Mark Cardin's wife began eating the

I’m always amazed when I see people post their “year end sleep reviews” from their tracking watches and it shows they sleep like 10 hours per night. I don’t think I’ve slept 10 hours in a night since my brain started functioning. Must be nice to have no thoughts or anxiety!

The most offensive thing about Bari Weiss' ascension to CBS News EIC is, her news judgment is awful! This Erika Kirk interview is 3 months late.
Addressing the people justifying Charlie Kirk's murder on the basis of his beliefs, Erika Kirk said: "You're sick. He's a human being. You think he deserved that? Tell that to my 3-year-old daughter." @MrsErikaKirk sat down with @bariweiss for a CBS News Town Hall, just days

This is a real Chicago winter: snowfall, frigid temps, the sky is always grey by 230. But I’m holding up well. I think it’s because I’m in a good place. Weather has never really impacted my mood. I’ve had some of the worst mental health days of my life when it’s been 80 & sunny!

I disagree totally. I earned $38K in my first job out of college and was able to live in a nice neighborhood in Boston with 1 roommate in a 2-bedroom, go to bars, order takeout & buy every necessity. I wasn't living large at 23, but I was living. That would be impossible now.
I feel like a lot of 2010s nostalgia is just nostalgia for a world that seemed to be getting better instead of one that seems to only get worse, but extending it to day-to-day conditions that weren't actually better
