The NHS collapse - it has taken just 13 years - letโs retake a look at this from Channel 4 To blame Government Ministers, MPs & complicit NHS England leaders who have too much to lose (ยฃ) from speaking up They have nodded this disaster along with smiles

I think younger people looking at medical careers will probably look at this and think - that working hard, studying hard, training hard and sacrificing fundamentally means nothing in this country.
@Conservatives 3๏ธโฃ Todayโs offer is final. There will be no more talks on pay. This country will not be bullied into higher taxes or higher borrowing to fund unrealistic pay demands, risking higher inflation.

NHS bosses are warning of significant disruption to services across England with a 3-day junior doctor strike now underway. Thousands of appointments and operations are expected to be cancelled at a time of extraordinary hot weather. We spoke to Arjan Singh.

Nurses work 12hr shifts; sell their days off; use food banks; pay ยฃ1300 a year to park. And 40,000 have left their jobs in a year. Tory MPs sit for 150 days; get subsidised food; claim travel & energy on expenses; get free parking & ยฃ2,200 pay rises. Back the nurses please.

Thereโs something seriously wrong when the second year medical student Iโm teaching bedside to has to leave early to do an HCA shift, where her hourly rate is double mine. Her job to fund the qualification to practice medicine pays more than โฆ the doctor sheโs studying to be.

Today junior doctors in England will begin round 2 of our strike action for #PayRestoration Over the last 15 years, weโve seen a real terms pay cut of over 26% - weโre fighting for that to be reversed๐ Stick together, fight together, win together.

Re Junior Doctor strikes, the 'if you don't like it, get another job / go elsewhere' crowd need to rapidly learn that doctors are doing exactly that. It's (partly) why you struggle to see a GP, or it takes months to see a specialist. We simply do not have enough of them.

Junior doctors in England will be taking strike action next week Whilst UK media stands by silently the Government is engaged in a shameless campaign to demonize them I will not stand by and watch that happen - here are some actual FACTS

There are so many issues with this article which seems to have been framed to fit the government agenda. Disappointing because we were explicit about a number of things. https://t.co/GnzK1694Kp

Five years of medical school costing ~ยฃ100,000 and this was my payslip after nearly one year of working in the NHS as a doctor. This is why we are striking. How can you survive on this whilst peopleโs lives are in your hands daily AND youโre understaffed?

It's so nice to hear from Steve. Here we were writing to him for the past 6-8 months and suddenly, Friday evening 10pm a mere 3 days before our strike he remembers that he's responsible for a health service and should probably talk to the doctors running it. #BMADoctorsVoteYes
Iโve written to @BMA_JuniorDocs inviting them for formal pay talks on the same basis other health unions accepted, including calling off next weekโs strike. Letโs have a constructive dialogue to make the NHS a better place to work and ensure we deliver the care patients need.
