FDA ODAC did not approve UGN-102 without a RCT comparing it to TURBT. @markballmd who was on the ODAC said it well in regards to a RCT: “I don’t know it’s required, although it is preferable.” RCTs are expensive but may have led to approval here.

HR NMIBC Plenary - novel therapies to spare the bladder result in >50% of pts recurring at 12 mo but per CISTO, RC = or better to bladder sparing therapy in pt reported outcomes. So RC is an option in non responders but we and pts will likely sequence therapy instead #AUA25
