The main benefit of locational prices is lower prices there is another benefit - the ability to better connect neighbouring grids. Just this summer Sweden said 'No' to a proposed interconnector with Germany b/c Germany doesn't locational pricing.
This a must-read thread on why locational pricing is now critical in electricity. Failure to introduce it puts bills up (a lot) and makes a mockery of cheap renewables. The status quo is indefensible (unless you’re one of the incumbent generators profiting massively from it).

The Belgium dot should move down to the upper reaches of the yellow box as the Flemish government recently announced a spark price target of about 2.75 - we don't know when they want to hit it though.
⚡️High energy prices are the main obstacle for the heat pump industry. These high costs continue to be distorted in favour of gas and fossil fuels, with electricity prices often heavily taxed. Read more in our latest market report 👉🏻 #HeatPumps

This is excellent and not just because it meets my priors - but the one question that stays with me about Europe's EV transition is what impact thousands of LTNs across Europe will have on the speed of the transition, if any.
Is there really an EV slowdown? Are EV's too cheap in China? Can we compete? This week on Cleaning Up, @MLiebreich welcomes @colinmckerrache , Head of Clean Transport @BloombergNEF to answer all of your burning questions on Electric Vehicles. Tonight, 6PM BST.

What a pity. She's been great and the world needs a lot more female mayors.
BREAKING: #Montréal’s 1st female mayor, @Val_Plante , has announced she won’t seek a 3rd term. I endorsed her and @projetmontreal , and never regretted it. Au revoir (mais pas adieu), Val!
