So much for stamping his authority in the wake Rayner’s resignation

This is basically what it is, displacement activity, trying to look like you’re writing the ship after someone got thrown overboard
Good reshuffles symbolise a new message with new people. This, in contrast, is more a rotation than a reshuffle. Same people, in different jobs, to which they are generally even less suited than before. Hard to see why Starmer thinks this would change perceptions of his govt.

I bet Keir Starmer was hoping for a quiet Friday but now, just after lunch, he’s got to do a reshuffle

Now that Angela Rayner has resigned from all positions it leaves Labour without a Deputy Leader This is an elected position, so it’ll be interesting to see what right lunatic the party chooses that Keir will have to pretend to like…assuming he’s still around by then

One thing quite shocking about these figures is how much the Northern Ireland parties are bankrolled by the taxpayer As a % of their total funding for Q2 of 2025, public funding was: - Alliance 71% - DUP 100% - People Before Profit 100% - SDLP 91% - Sinn Fein 26% - TUV
Interesting Q2 party donation figures just published. Tories out-fundraised Labour and Reform (Reform by 2:1). Oh, and Lord Alli was back with another £20,000 for Labour in April

Ok I’ll bite…how does everyone in the UK having a digital ID on a government database to stop people, with no ID of any kind, entering the country illegally on boats?
🚨 NEW: Keir Starmer is planning to introduce digital ID cards for every citizen to help stop the boats [@theipaper]

This is some serious cognitive dissonance from Nick Clegg saying leaving the EU (a protectionist racket) was very damaging to the the UK then decries the rise of protectionism ie Trump flexing the USA’s tariff muscles He’s so universally wrong about everything that he could
“He... is clearly responsible for making the country more divisive, divided, poorer, less relevant in the world, fewer opportunities for our kids and grandkids.” Nick Clegg criticises Nigel Farage and labels Brexit “the most extraordinary act of self-harm”. #Newsnight

Did they run this by Lord Hermer? This is the exact sort of thing that’s utterly haram under his authoritative (& delusional) interpretation of international law Perhaps the AG’s interpretation changes with Labour’s poll ratings? 🤷♂️

Apparently Jude Law is playing Putin in an upcoming movie, however in it he looks like the hard nosed manager of a struggling English football team in the 1980s Not quite sure I can buy into the illusion
