Key provisions in RRB will:.- Apply Decent Homes Standard to private rented sector;.- Extend Awaab’s law to private rented tenancies. These, unjustifiably, will not apply to buildings comprising essential living facilities on site pitches, in the Bill’s current form. (2/5).

The Renters’ Rights Bill (RRB) aims to strengthen protections and improve living conditions for private renters. In its current form, the RRB does not directly address the needs of Gypsies and Travellers living on sites or mobile homes. (1/5).

Ahead of further planning reforms, APPG members wrote to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Faith, Communities and Resettlement and the Minister of State for Housing and Planning, urging action around the provision and operation of Gypsy and Traveller sites.

Not having settled status affects many aspects of life - for work, renting, healthcare including children accessing hospital treatment. Mihai notes ’our communities are here to stay…we are part of local communities and continue to contribute to society here’. (3/6).
