Housing benefit needs to match the cost of renting – by unfreezing LHA in the Autumn Budget the Chancellor can help end homelessness and reduce poverty.

Lots of Roma people are unable to pay all of their rent using housing benefit, and have to use money that should be for other essentials, like food or energy, to make up the difference. Others become homeless as they are unable to find a place that they can afford to rent.
