"It’s the first time that we have provided images of the bindings of each manuscript from every angle." Great news! #bookhistory #bookbindings
Etched inside the wooden upper-board of a 12th century manuscript is a mysterious pattern of lines. A guilty secret, perhaps..? John Barrett uncovers board games and beauty, while digitizing 300 manuscripts. https://t.co/yjlwTXh1UP

A friend asked me to reshare this wonderful animation by @neilrkaye. A beautifully simple yet novel way of visualizing the distortion of country size that Mercator projections bring with them. Love it! Source: https://t.co/00WD7tMOud

This miniature Book of Psalms was written in shorthand by Richard Hill in 1628. Pasted in the back of the little manuscript is a coat of arms painted on vellum. These are the arms (amongst others) of the Worshipful Company of Grocers [L40.2/E3] #TinyTuesday
