Outcomes (though still nowhere near where we would like) are amongst the most improved in Leeds. We’ve launched a framework for teaching, learning, QA and CPD to drive this forwards with greater pace.

In the last two years we’ve reduced our use of offsite alternative provision by almost 90% largely thanks to our on site student support unit - Connect. Specialist staff, a full breadth of curriculum and lots of pastoral and SEMH support has been key.

We’re at the end of term 3 at @DixonsUnity. Compared to the same point last year, suspensions are down by 74% and attendance is up 6%, we’ve improved attendance to corrections by over 11% and this regularly exceeds 90%.

The community and outreach work led by Ms Clynes and Ms Germain and supported by so many staff across the academy is possibly the thing that makes me most proud to be Principal at DUA. 750 presents and over 100 Christmas dinner boxes…just incredible.
We’ve been hard at work wrapping a whopping 750 gifts for our families! These will go out alongside 80 Christmas dinner packs, to ensure our families will all have a joyful holiday season. Big thanks to Charles and Diana at St George’s Crypt for sourcing so many of our gifts!
