On 16 October we host our Y11 Securing Success Evening, which includes:.A presentation from leaders about Y11. A session on effective revision strategies. Every student receiving a bespoke set of revision materials worth over £100. Opportunity to speak to post 16, SEND, and WMIM.

Pouches - lots of different types, some signal blocking and others branded. For us Yondr was perfect and after a trial we purchased 1250 for the full school. Students are able to keep their device on them free from distraction and unable to see or hear their device.

Not allowing phones - lots of our student use the bus and parents wanted to use the ‘tracking’ facility of a smart phone so it felt like something we didn’t need to do when we had a viable alternative.

Lockers - were a good option but twice the cost & space was an issue for us. Collecting phones - complete non starter for us. Our insurance company wouldn’t allow us & it would have invalidated our policy.

We felt however that we had a responsibility to remove potential distraction and temptation from students so began in Jan 25. Before that we looked and researched lots of potential options including;. Lockers .Collecting phones .Not allowing any phones on site.Other pouches.

Mobile Phones 📱 . Anyone who has reached out feel free to visit and see how we implemented a complete mobile phone ban using Yondr pouches. We didn’t have a visible problem with phones and implemented a quite strict (traditional) mobile phone policy.

We are equally as proud of those young people who are accessing degree apprenticeships in:. RAF Engineering.HM Public Services.NHS Apprenticeships.Apprenticeship in Civil Engineering. Our job is to make sure students access the next stages they want to, today 100% have done that.
