I really think that Killarney deserves much more credit for their move to move away from single use coffee cups. Council leaders from every town and city should be asking the scheme’s organisers for advice. 200 million coffee cups go to landfill annually in Ireland. Enough.

Killarney took the next level for tackling climate change. There are no plastic and paper cups in town; instead, reusable cups are widely available. You pay 2 euros and can return to any local hotel or coffee shop and get your money back. This is a beautiful collaboration.
