Scams like these are getting more and more convincing. So don't be like me. Check every single detail way in advance. I was lucky enough to catch on at the very last minute but I should have been more careful right from the start

Ultimately, it seems that scammers are focusing on people that are looking for work and are targeting their vulnerable state in searching for a job. It is honestly quite despicable.

So I probed a bit further and ultimately got the expected answer that I simply need to follow their instructions 🙃

I managed to track the user's X profile which showcased what most would associate with a scam account (I would have done a BG check earlier but it was a busy day)

Further checking of the URL saw me get a "suspicious link" result

But the link seemed... "off" somehow. I have WeChat on a dummy phone and decided to test the link. But instead of auto-opening my WeChat app the link took me to an official-looking website that wanted me to download the software (which already have)... huh

Turns out this one was a scammer too. Operating "on behalf" of Solus (which seems to be an inactive project). This time they insisted I use WeChat video call. Seemed slightly more legit.

To top it off, someone reached out to another friend and offered a job interview but that friend referred me instead and introduced us via a TG group chat.

Now this happened a few days ago and I was not going to post about it, because I figured it was not a big deal But over lunch today I mentioned it to other crypto friends and the same thing had happened to them around the same time.
