In Y2, purists would say keep the cow on grass and eat less beef. A capitalist: $ saved on feed and can still corn finish! A pragmatist: fatter cows after Y1 means less feed, crowding, antibiotics etc. But we must all be for the benefits of regen grazing, even if you’re anti-beef.

This is easily solved. @GeorgeMonbiot and @tamarhaspel all land presently devoted to grazing should be managed according to regen principles @AllanRSavory and others. No question here. The average daily gain of the cow is usually double in year one. Year two is more fraught. 1/2.

Super psyched by this Fungal dominant compost trial in CO: ."Two pounds of fungal dominant compost mixed with 20 gallons of water replaced 140lbs of nitrogen fertilizer on a conventional corn farm.”.

So we partner with these jurisdictions to help them meet their requirements by paying for a portion of farmers’ compost. We call it Compost Connector.

Basically, SB 1383 requires cities & counties to buy back some of the compost their organic waste produces, but they don’t have much use for it.

We’re working to get the compost produced by this mandatory composting law onto farms where it can benefit the soil and sequester carbon.

New compost regulations in CA could be the biggest regenerative ag policy in the US. Still, SB 1383 is far from perfect.
