I'm reading it now! Do you think social media and troll farms have reduced the cost of offense again?
This is something in trying to assess from the book, since it doesn't seem they predicted psychological exploitation at scale.

Lives of a Cell, Lewis Thomas
This amazing guy - that I never see anybody talk about - pretty much predicted the Internet, in the 70s, by reasoning from first principles and comparing patterns of human thought against the progressive complexity in the evolution of biology

I enjoyed Daemon and Freedom by Daniel Suarez. It struck me that while it reads like science fiction, pretty much everything in it is possible with current technology.
