Our @J_A_C_S , published online today, details a photocatalytic method for benzylic C–H amination directly using unprotected alkyl/aryl amines. Amines are typically more prone to oxidation than C–H bonds, but perovskite says not really. @SDSU @SDSUsciences @SDSU_RF

Congratulations to Regis and Manal. It is an honor to be among all of you. I'm extremely grateful to my students, postdocs, mentors, colleagues, collaborators, letter writers and family who were part of this journey.
We are very happy to announce the promotion of three colleagues this year! Dr. Komperda @RegIsChem is now an Associate Prof with tenure, and Drs. Swairjo and Yan have been promoted to (full) Professor! Congratulations to all of you them on their exemplary work!

We reported @angew_chem perovskite photocatalytic CO2 reduction might be problematic in organic solvents. Products (CO) clearly result from photoredox organic reaction involving solvents, leading to orders of higher rates of CO. @SDSUResearch @ChoiseEfrc

We have revealed Triplet Energy Transfer from Perovskite for Highly Selective Photocatalytic 2 + 2 Cycloaddition. This time perovskites are not necessarily quantum-confined but also bulk-like for triplet energy transfer. @ACS_AMI @mbthz @SDSUResearch
pubs.acs.org
Triplet excitons are generally confined within a semiconductor. Hence, solar energy utilization via direct triplet energy transfer (TET) from semiconductors is challenging. TET from lead halide...
