1) You know how they say “it takes a village” for when people have kids? I think it takes a village for other things in life too. When you’re chronically ill, temporarily ill, lose a loved one, etc. I feel like everyone needs/wants a village in life. Just not everyone is

Over one-third of Lahaina’s population was Filipino, and a huge portion of the missing & displaced are Mexican. Many are the workers who serve you on your Maui vacation. Out of fear, they won’t apply for federal relief even if eligible. Donate bc private aid is their only hope.

I am growing tired of hearing about a teacher shortage. This country has plenty of teachers. They are not working because of low wages, little respect, being vilified as a result of political ideology. Change the conditions and reap the rewards. #EdChat

everyone i know in their late 20s is having an existential crisis because we skipped our mid 20s in the pandemic. relationships fast-tracked, careers faltered, we lost those core identity-building years and now we feel like 23-year-old brains in bodies approaching 30

In case politicians were wondering, teachers would be happy to give up Teacher Appreciation Week for a liveable salary and respect as professionals.

Good morning from the Oklahoma House Chamber, where a pastor and a psychiatrist (who are also legislators) are fighting *AGAINST* a bill that would ban corporal punishment for students with special needs. It’s 2023 outside; it’s 1880 in here.

When a teacher posts about the unrelenting exhaustion we are experiencing it doesn’t mean they don’t like teaching, don’t like their students, or that they have terrible admin. It could just mean that the weight of everything over the last few years is exhausting without healing.

She's a 10, but she's a 14, an 8, and a 12. She just wants to be able to buy pants online, but clothing sizes for women are bullshit.

If this was about babies, there would be universal healthcare. Free education. Free daycare. Southern states would be doing all they can to drop the Black maternal mortality rate. This is about power and control
