A first, small step by the SKA Observatory, but a giant step for our aspirations to build the world's largest and most sensitive radio astronomy facility! Looking forward for working together will all SKAO partners to realise this dream in the next few years! ๐.
#SKAnews: Four SKA-Low stations are now working together!. ๐ธ๐ This early working version of the SKA-Low telescope in ๐ฆ๐บ has produced its first image capturing 85 radio galaxies. Read more on this milestone:.๐ @IndustryGovAu @VentiaServices @mediainaf

Special tributes to the one and only Govind Swarup -- a father figure for many of us who honed our skills at radio astronomy and learnt how to lead large projects under his inspiring guidance. He will always be in our hearts and minds. ๐.
#OnThisDay (March 23rd), we celebrate the 96th birth anniversary of Prof. Govind Swarup, the pioneer of radio astronomy in India. Read about and listen to his remarkable journey in this field here : #govindswarup96

A small step for the observatory? Not really, it's a giant step for our hopes for the next generation facility that we are all working hard to achieve! ๐๐ฝ๐๐ฝ.
The first image from @SKAOโs SKA-Low telescope in the Australian outback is here. Using just 1000 of an expected 130,000 antennas, it shows 85 of the brightest galaxies in a small patch of sky. โจ. A big milestone in its quest to reveal our Universe! ๐.

Wonderful to host groups like #CCS at GMRT -- great to work together to spread the excitement and joy of the scientific world to the general public: a true USP of the GMRT Science Day philosophy. ๐๐ฝ.
Team #KhagolVishwa #CCS participated in #NationalScienceDay2025 exhibition arranged at #GMRT. This year, volunteers from PVG'S College Of Engineering and Technology explained different concepts of sky watching in layman's language. #CitizenScience #Pune

Looking forward to what is one of the largest and most diverse celebration of the National Science Day in the country, in the sprawling precincts of the GMRT observatory. ๐๐ฝ In fact, it runs for two days and typically attracts a footfall of over 10,000 each day! ๐.
#GMRT Science Day 2025 returns on 28th Feb! The two-day celebration will begin with a talk given by our Chief Guest, Prof. Yashwant Gupta, Centre Director of #NCRA, followed by #GMRT's Science Day Exhibition, with exhibits by students and organizations from all over the country.

Simply great to see the first light pulsar signals from SKA-Low ๐๐ฝ-- it fills my heart with joy and excitement as a pulsar researcher, to see this ๐๐๐.
As testing of the first SKA-Low telescope stations continues, our scientists have used a single station of 256 antennas to detect two known pulsars! The one in this video rotates every 0.4 seconds. ๐ซ Learn why pulsars are a key #SKAscience interest:
