A (good) sign of the times heading into football season ... just today I received emails from state gaming regulators urging responsible betting and identifying legal sportsbooks. These types of comms are happening more often, and can help educate consumers. Its a good start.

👏Empowering customers to take control of their betting and having limits across operators/jurisdictions is sensible & responsible. Worth noting that @edgeboostbets helps players set universal limits for all forms of gambling (retail & online) with its debit-only bank account.

FanDuel's rep captures the debate perfectly. Regulate/tax or head-in-the-sand status quo. That's the choice. And please don't tell me that, by this logic, we should legalize [insert drug] because people are also doing that. Virtually all states, through the legislature or ballot,

“The question shouldn’t be, ‘Should there or there should there not be iGaming?' There already is iGaming, and Americans are betting hundreds of billions of dollars per year on it, except that in 43 states [without authorized iGaming], they are getting zero tax revenue."

“An outright ban on prop bets may sound like a quick fix, but it misses the point. The only reason this potential misconduct came to light is because the regulated market caught it and flagged it. That’s exactly how legal sports betting is supposed to work." - iDEA Advocacy

Great perspective from my friend and colleague @JonMichaels777. Grassroots that showed true consumer demand (think poker players) was key to legalization in states like NJ, PA and MI. It needs to be part of the approach moving forward. https://t.co/vOy723d1Ia

A welcome comment by the CA Gov on today's fantasy sports opinion. Can state lawmakers come together to pass a bill that clarifies its legal status? Not even sure it's procedurally possible for this year.
