Really fun collaboration with @zamore_lab, @IGainetdinov and Zsolt Venkei. Very much my cup of tea type story (how biology finds a way to solve a problem).
Hot off the press from @zamore_lab in collaboration with @yamashitaflylab: A maternally programmed intergenerational mechanism enables male offspring to make piRNAs from Y-linked precursor RNAs in Drosophila @NatureCellBio .

Congrats Ildar! the most important criteria in deciding PhD/postdoc advisor is how excited the PI is about the science they do. And Ildar fits that bill!!.
I am honored and excited to be joining the Department of Biology at NYU this fall. We will be studying the role of RNA metabolism in development and disease. Grateful to @zamore_lab and @yamashitaflylab for advice and support. Looking for postdocs.

It was so much fun talking about the process of science — human part of it — with Martin and Itai. Thank you for having me.
New Night Science Podcast episode! We talked with MIT's Yukiko Yamashita about her creative process, which she likens to solving 100s of jigsaw puzzles all dumped together. @yamashitaflylab @MartinJLercher @ItaiYanai @WhiteheadInst @MITBiology @HHMINEWS.
