IIS is class, lob an NLB in there and your laughing tea cakes. Had thousands of users across this setup thick end of 15 to 20 years ago with minimal issue and decent observability. It hasn't changed cos it's decent and just works.
Hot take: IIS is a single node machine cluster with built in ingress, deployment system, process management and configuration UI (control plane) integrated into windows. It's *much* simpler to use and setup and manage on a single machine than any on premise k8s deployment.
