This is a crazy story. People are using non visible embedded prompts within the text of articles with instructions to AI “reviewers.” A real pyramid of fraud.

Google's Hotseat Hypocrisy 🫤 On iOS to comply with the Digital Markets Act, Apple puts the user’s chosen browser in the hotseat/dock. Google refuses to do the same on Android, leaving Chrome in the hotseat and undermining user choice. That’s not DMA compliance!. 1/10.

apple-flavored enshittification. you know it’s done to achieve just one goal: create an elite screen space estate for ads. with the lowered information density fitting very few elements at a time the user will have to rely more on search. search is where you surface more ASA.

How can you interpret what Apple is doing as being “part of its ongoing efforts to comply with the Digital Markets Act”? They’re not trying to comply! They’re purposely continuing to make it as untenable as possible for developers to do what has been awarded to them under EU.

Apple is petty. What do you expect from a company that moves the camera bezel to make cases incompatible between otherwise identical devices every year? When consumers justify that as a worthwhile investment, so should developers. Apple is petty.

I ❤️ IT! Now there’s a legal way to disable app auto-updates and properly hide an app in the App Store. It’s so annoying to see billions of new daily installs wasting server resources every day! Paying CTF fees is a privilege that will fund Apple’s AI research. 🙇🏻‍♀️ @tim_cook 🙏.

Apple blocks auto-updates to these apps, cripples search for them, and blocks customer support and family sharing, and otherwise ensures that using these apps will be an intentionally-miserable experience for users and a commercial failure for developers.
