big update: my IGCSE ppt now includes all PPQsa not password protected on the Edexcel site. Can be downloaded with just new Qs or Old ones or, if your comp. can cope with 7000+ slides, as one super-resource from TES (my website couldn't handle the upload).

Predictions for Edexcel IGCSE Paper 2. Without any unconscious bias or human preconceptions, but purely through statistical analysis.

Summer project 1 finished: All Core Pure PPQs by topic have been updated up to 2023's papers. AS and legacy questions included but on separate (linked pages). Enjoy!.

not a bad set of predictions - fairly accurate again with the only anomalies coming from a 96% topic not coming up and a low sample size affecting the 0.5 group:

As planned, I've managed to finish going through the AQA L2 course and grouping questions by topic. Whole ppt available on TES or broken down a little more on the website

Big project this summer: AQA level 2 ppqs by topic (amongst updating others). I have 2012-22 papers, but only have @mrbartonmaths solutions for 2013-15. Does anyone know where I can find blank copies of these and what the main differences between 8360 vs. 8365 specifications are?.

Another pleasantly surprised outcome from my statistical approach to predicting topics, this time for A Level (particularly useful to help identify potential crossover topics). Practising models in calculus & partial fractions to either binomial or integration hopefully paid off!

Pleasantly surprised with my first mathematical attempt for predicted topics for IGCSE paper 2. Reasonably accurate frequencies of questions emerging and was even able to call the last Q.

Having managed to have a quick look at the first A level pure paper, I did another frequency analysis using excel - less data so less reliable than gcse, but hopefully useful. Uploaded to A2 Pure general course support The PDF has links to PPQs by topic

A Level Pure PPQs by topic updated to include everything up to last summer. Website is struggling to upload larger files now, so only available as a full download from TES or each topic can be individually accessed on the workshop

I looked at frequency of topics over both papers and compared to frequency in paper 1 (a big pet peeve is crossing off topics after a single Q comes up or saying something definitely will because it hasn't yet) Nice bit of conditional probability naturally occurring too 2/2

After seeing various attempts at predicting topics for future papers it that made me ponder what the best mathematical way of approaching this was. I've had a go at the spec I teach (IGCSE) and am curious how it will go - updated on the workshop here. 1/2

@mathsjem In the end I've used chatGPT to help me with get started with some (after it being suggested by a pupil) and come up with 10 questions. Now uploaded to the website. See if you can guess the ones chatGPT came up with.

Here it is, hopefully not too late, the AQA GCSE MCQs. I've used it with my year 11s and top set year 10 to quickly go through lots of topics (despite teaching IGCSE) and found it really useful.

Small resource update: made a worksheet for HCF and LCM using prime factors, leading into missing data and algebra.

As someone who has only taught leading into Edexcel exams, I love to use the AQA MCQs to mix things up, spark discussions and see topics posed in different ways. I finally got around to compiling AQA A-Level Pure Qs yesterday and played our own version of the million pound drop.

#mathstwitter I'm trying to create some conditional probability questions within a distribution (think the calculator batteries Q from 2018). I've come up with the attached but could use some help coming up with a few more. Any help is appreciated and hopefully fun too! @mathsjem
