Congratulations to PhD student @LucasPhilipp1 on his first preprint! 🎉 He used Hi-C data to reconstruct the 3D conformations of dinoflagellate chromosomes 🦠🧬 And contrary to the prevailing model, they aren't liquid crystalline! 😯.

Congratulations, Vera Ugalde Lab! 🥳🧠 . Check out their new paper on how neurons respond to stress by locally synthesizing chaperones in dendrites!. Also, they're hiring, so check them out!.
Curious about how neurons maintain protein homeostasis in dendrites under proteotoxic stress? .Our latest @NatureComms study reveals stressed neurons localize & translate HSP mRNAs in dendrites, creating on-demand chaperones to correct misfolded proteins.

Bit of a different direction for us, but happy to share a new preprint on how intracellular constraints shape the structure of microbial communities🦠.Fun collaboration with ecologist Fred Guichard @BioMcGill, spearheaded by Brendon McGuinness @QLSMcGill .

Check out my friend and colleague's new lab @LMU_Muenchen @EESLMU1! . @Guse_Lab is doing very exciting work on coral-dinoflagellate symbiosis 🪸🦠.
We are hiring! Join us in 2023 at the @LMU_Muenchen @EESLMU1 to work an exciting projects aiming to uncover the mechanisms, ecology and evolution of coral endosymbiosis using @AiptasiaSymRes #symbiosis. We are seeking Postdocs and an animal caretaker:

Check out this Tweetorial from my co-author @SaganLab 🤓.
Hey Virologists! Have you been hearing about phase separation and wondered what it is or how it might be important in the infectious cycle? I paired up with the amazing biophysicist @weber_lab to review the topic for you! 1/7.

Hey Biophysicists! We've heard a lot (too much😬) about viruses lately, but they're interesting for reasons beyond public health. Turns out, viruses are master architects of biomolecular condensates! Virologist @SaganLab and I teamed up on this review:.

Honored to be your first Meet-the-Author visitor😊 Such a great idea to leverage Zoom to bring external speakers into the classroom! Always a pleasure talking science with you, and I was so impressed with how well prepared and thoughtful the students were! 🤓.
A shout out to @weber_lab for talking to my class today about bacterial condensates, state of the field, and helping us parse through your PNAS 2020 paper! It was a ton of fun to see how you think about science and hypothesis-building.

Exciting opportunity! Wish I could apply 🤓.
Looking for postdoc @embl to study how bacterial ribosomal #RNA transcription and phase separation are linked by combining single-molecule methods (@OlivierDuss lab) and @cryoET (Julia Mahamid lab), fully funded by @SPP2191. Please RT!.
