Joe Manchin wanted significantly more child poverty because of an imaginary problem he takes very seriously.
🚨NEW: Joe Manchin: "I was a Democrat all my life. They better figure out how they lost people like me." "When you quit worrying about the working person, their working conditions — you're worried more about a person that's able-bodied and capable of working that won't work,

There is more scientific and intellectual rigor in the average fantasy football group-chat than is being displayed here.
Heatmap: liberals love their grandmother, a stranger, and a snake the same way. Liberal: but I love snakes as much as I love my grandmother! I have infinity love! No you don’t. You have a horrifying calculated emotion that you’ve decided to pretend is love. Real love is finite

This is so funny for anyone who has had the experience of posting a chart of the distributional impact of tariffs over the last few months

This does not seem very efficient to me.
Awesome to see bipartisan support for making the government more efficient. Look forward to seeing what @DOGE can do at the federal level…

I think it can two things can be true: Biden admin provided real material benefits to working class people. Biden/Harris messaging failed to communicate a clear affirmative case to the public.
god just shut the fuck up bernie We had the most pro-labor, pro-working class, pro-redistribution administration in the last fifty years and it didn't matter

Regardless of feelings about RC, a proposition to preempt RC preemption laws is a very silly way to go about this.

Thanks to @CopyrightOffice, McDonald’s franchisees now have the right to repair their own ice cream machines. In March @FTC filed a comment in support of this change, and we’ll keep using our tools to protect people’s right to repair. https://t.co/vzLV15dUEk

The Federal Trade Commission and the Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division (DOJ) have submitted a comment to the U.S.
McDonald’s often maligned, seemingly perennially-broken ice cream machines could soon become a thing of the past.

NEW: after the @MTA hears complaints from @LIRR customers there’s nowhere to sit at the new $11B Grand Central Madison hub, they’ve added some seating as of today. Passengers have been told to limit their seating to 90 minutes. #NBC4NY

Somehow "people know more about themselves than does some beurocrat in Washington" has become a counter-argument to statistics, rather than the entire point these surveys exist in the first place. We don't how people are doing, so we ask them!

Yes, maybe we should ask a couple thousand people how their financial life is going, and then publish the results. That way we could know what the statistics are hiding. (/s)
@revhowardarson You can’t cherry pick statistics to convince people who actually make money and buy things with it. People know how their financial life is going compared to their earlier life.

Worth a reminder this only really happens in America. Most other places the concept of billionaires buying up sports teams and stealing them out of the communities that love them is considered, rightly, insane.
"This right here, this is just the worst of what sports can be." —@notthefakeSVP after the Athletics' final game at the Oakland Coliseum.
