@chamberlain should be working with @home_assistant to be a first class integration, not blocking them. A walled garden stagnates and dies, this has been proven time and again, and MyQ in this case will be no different. I encourage them to change course on these choices.

I'm particularly disappointed in @chamberlain 's choice to, under the guise of 'security', block legitimate users' access to their myq garage door openers via the APIs that @home_assistant and other open source solutions use. They've, effectively, rendered my devices e-waste.

Getting the word around: is no longer an accepted e-mail service with respect to Vger. Combination of blow back due to utterly miss-configured forwarding onwards (usually due to individual users not the service as a whole) and low acceptance limits.

Where this gets into "I shouldn't have to say this" is don't use an e-mail forwarderer with mailing list, just don't. It complicates things a lot in ways that are REALLY not obvious either to the sender or the receiver and it's going to be prone to breakage. 2/2.

This can cause it to just sit there and spin. Found this when my weather station kept just wandering off and stop talking to anything when the AP would firmware update or reboot, you know events that shouldn't be a huge deal. Solution: revert to simple, trap the error myself.

So turns out that if you are using micropython and umqtt.robust it try/except catches the error before passing it back up. If something goes wonky it just repeatedly pounds on trying to perform that mqtt action but never really lets anyone above it know.

While it's still up: there was a way to convert your backed up twitter data to something more than just a single html page, does anywhere know where that script was?.
