It is often in China, where it is so repressive, that you’d find true heros. May all of us learn from General Xu, and find that courage within us to defy tyranny. “The Secret Trial of the General Who Refused to Attack Tiananmen Square - The New York Times”

In 1989, Gen. Xu Qinxian defied orders to crush the pro-democracy protests in Beijing. Now, leaked video from his court-martial is on YouTube.

Thanks @wang_maya @hrw for amplifying the issue. The use of sexual harassment against us is a systemic strategy to inflict pain & force silence. This is state-backed gender-based violence. It requires a unified global response to protect the safety & dignity of activists.
