Reuters confirms that President Trump’s son and his special envoy met in private with a sanctioned Kremlin proxy in Miami to help draft the new “peace plan” for Ukraine. This leaves the administration wide open to serious counterintelligence and influence-risk concerns.

COP30 ends with a comuniqué that perfectly suits China (and others, including Saudi Arabia, Russia and India). It drops any mention of “fossil fuels” (u-turn from COP28) It criticises trade measures linked to emissions (in effect attacking Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanisms)

This so-called ‘peace plan’ has real problems, and I am highly skeptical it will achieve peace. Ukraine should not be forced to give up its lands to one of the world’s most flagrant war criminals in Vladimir Putin. The size and disposition of Ukraine’s armed forces is a sovereign

Latest piece out in @TheAtlantic . Trump's "peace" plan for Ukraine, which he at this very moment trying to force on the country with threats and intimidation, is grotesque. The US president is admitting what too many refused to admit. He wants Putin to win.

This week I wrote about the de-mortgaging of America. As it becomes increasingly difficult to buy a home, American mortgage debt is falling - to a 25 year low relative to GDP, and a 60+ (!!!) year low relative to the value of the housing itself
